QUENCHING OIL

QUENCHING OIL

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Is a fast quenching oil formulated from selective base stocks coupled with speciality additives to enhance RPVOT character and minimise the sludge formation.

Normally the term quench refers to the controlled cooling system of steel components in a fluid media to give specific properties. Among the various quenching media, the petroleum based quenching media finds widest application due to some advantages like control uniform hardness, suitable for large scale automation, non-corrosive and non-toxic.

Performance Level

IS 2664 – 1980 (Reaffirmed – 1996)

Applications

Designed for processing steel having low and high hardening capacity. Three types of quenching oils are available, straight mineral type Compounded type and Additive Type. Quenching media to be selected as per quenching speed, character of metal etc.
